Hair

Filed under: Books, Business, Kids, Rants — admin @ 7:35 am

Over the weekend I wrote a long post about how I got my hair highlighted and how much I hated it and now I cannot find where I saved it on the computer. Perhaps it is for the best since the post ended up being this rant about my mother and her frosted hair circa 1981 and all kinds of personal family stuff. Suffice it to say I have horrible hair at the moment but that it will be fixed in three weeks time and I am living with it until then. Suffice it to say that I don’t think I have ever really looked cool anyway (in high school my friend Jeremy called me “pattern blind” after mixing stripes and plaid in a less than successful ensemble) and the mom ponytail and spit-up on my shoulder aren’t helping matters any.

If I find that post I may edit it a bit and post it…or not. Most likely I will write about L’s third birthday this week and how A laughed out loud for the first time yesterday but of course I was in the other room changing pants because she had spit-up all over me. I may write about how the new Murakami book is so good and the new Palahniuk so, well, Palahniuk. I may write about how spring is here in all its sneezy cottonwood glory.

For now, though, a cup of tea, a bagel and some cuddles with my girls to start this week off right.

Poetry

I once wrote a poem about all the poems that never leave your head, never get written down on paper and just die a little poem death. All the could’ve been but not quite poems. Or, maybe I just meant to write that poem.

That is how blogging has been for me the past few months. The site has been down and so I haven’t written anything for it but instead have occasionally thought, oh that would make a good post, or, I should write about that on CB. I could’ve, I suppose, kept writing and posted it all later…but I didn’t. And now I have to decide what to do at this point. We just moved (along with so many of the cool kids) to WordPress and didn’t bring the archives along, mostly because it was just more work. And while it would be a labor of love, I have been laboring for love a lot lately. In fact, one of the main reasons the site was left to flounder was that I literally labored and gave birth to our second daughter, A.

Today, with a three month old and L turning three years old next week, I feel sort of ready to blog again. The question is, about what? I have a clean slate and am not quite sure what to scratch upon it. I wish I had a theme or a particular point of view but again, that seems like a lot of mental work and I am a tad tired what with all the pooping and spitting up, the potty training one and washing diapers for the other, and of course the nursing one and nourishing both. So, as before I guess I will just let this evolve, unfold and grow organically.

And, just in case you think I haven’t been busy enough…I have still been making appearances here* and here.

Anyway, I am back and hope some of you have stuck around and will continue to indulge me in this highly narcissistic undertaking. Cheers.

*yipes, I really hate it when my name is spelled wrong
